The California Youth Advocacy Network (CYAN), in partnership with the Colorado School of Public Health, hosted a webinar on qualitative methods for engaging youth and adult partners in capturing and reflecting on community strengths and weaknesses. This webinar briefly reviewed two of these methods, Photovoice and Directed Photography, and discussed their similarities as well as differences. From there, presenters provided information on how to determine which method to use, reviewed the learning process to conduct a directed photography activity, and shared examples and guidance on engaging youth to document community concerns and influence policy, system, and environmental change.
